Autumn Sweet™ Plum on Myrobalan (Spring 2025)
An outstanding, blue-skinned prune developed by WSU.
This tree is moderately vigorous with an upright-to-spreading habit. Autumn Sweet™ is only partially self-fertile, and a pollenizer is required for optimal fruit set. In Geneva, NY, reliable setting has been obtained when partnered with Stanley and NY 9™.
Autumn Sweet™ is a recent selection from WSU. It is superior to the traditional Italian prune in terms of fruit quality and production. ripening mid-September, about 10 days after Stanley, this large, blue fruit is delicious for fresh eating and drying. This prune stores very well and its firm flesh makes it suitable for commercial production. The fruit will be fully colored before maturity.
