The bloom is very late and the tree is triploid, so especial care should be taken when choosing pollenizers. For full fertility, two late-blooming diploid trees will need to be present. This said, Vilberie is also partially self-fertile, and it will be somewhat productive under less than ideal conditions. This apple is used exclusively for cider production; it is not suitable for fresh eating.
