Tsugaru is an extremely sweet and firm apple from Japan.
A moderately vigorous tree, this variety has good fireblight resistance.
Tsugaru is one of Japan's favorite apples. It produces a large, extremely sweet, low acid, and firm apple. The skin is about 75% red streaked over a yellow background.
It was bred in the 1930's and released for commercial production in 1975. It is a cross between Golden Delicious and Kodama.
