Co-op 33 PC Apple Scionwood (Spring 2024)

A sweet little jewel of an apple that children love.

Ripening in mid-September, Co-op 33 is field immune to apple scab, fairly resistant to fire blight, but suscepible to cedar-apple rust and powdery mildew. The tree is spreading with a spindly tendency that will require thoughtful pruning. Fruit should be thinned to maintain annual bearing.

Co-op 33 is a deep red jewel with yellowish flesh that is sweet, rich, and spicy. The texture is exceptionally crisp and breaking, comparable to Honeycrisp. This apple is perfect for home gardens and U-pick orchards.

Co-op 33 is one of the many scab-resistant varieties.

Clean vs. Regular

Our clean scion is harvested from trees grown on G.16, which is extremely sensitive to viruses. These trees would not have survived if the scion contained viruses. Our clean wood has not been lab tested. Regular = may contain one of the common latent viruses; this is not usually a problem and can be used with most rootstocks.
