PF Fat Lady Peach on Nemaguard (Spring 2024)

An excellent late-season, freestone peach .

This tree is moderately resistant to bacterial spot and self-fertile; it will not require a second variety for pollination. Hardy and reliable, PF Fat Lady is also a late bloomer.

Ripening about 40 days after Redhaven, PF Fat Lady is a classy, large peach (2 3/4" and 3"). It's very freestone and it has better fruit color and flavor than the older late varieties Fayette and Encore. It will hold up in the cooler with good flavor for up to three weeks after harvest. This is a late-season winner.

Any peach variety with PF at the front of its name is a creation of Paul Friday, peach breeder extraordinaire. Of this particular variety, he says: "I have named this peach PF Fat Lady because after I developed this great late peach all of the good names for late peaches like "Encore" and "Finale" were already taken."
