Blushingstar® Peach on Peach Seedling (Spring 2024)

A midseason, white-fleshed peach, completely freestone. Also known as FA 18.

Blushingstar® is a great choice for home orchardists, especially in colder climates. The tree is vigorous, hardy, and regularly productive, and it has some resistance to bacterial spot. It will become productive within two-three years after planting. Fruit thinning is necessary as these trees crop heavily. This peach is self-fertile and does not require the presence of a second variety as a pollenizer.

The bloom on this tree is a dark pinkish red, and fruit ripens mid season, around 20 days after Redhaven. The fruit is very attractive, with a cream skin that is almost completely covered in a red blush. This smallish peach is white fleshed and fully freestone. It has an excellent flavor: sweet, slightly acidic, and aromatic, and it does not brown when cut.

Blushingstar® is a member of the "Stellar" series, all of which have the word "star" in their names, from a private breeding program in Michigan.
