An excellent, scab-immune dessert apple.
Desiree® Peach on Peach Seedling (Spring 2023)

A very early semi-freestone recently developed at Rutgers University. Also known as NJ 350.
This tree is of medium vigor and initial trials have shown that is has some resistance to bacterial spot. Desiree® is productive and produces few split pits. Early thinning is recommended for optimal fruit size. This peach is self-fertile, and a second variety is not required as a pollenizer.
Desiree® produces a fruit of excellent quality. It is 2.5-2.75 inches, with a medium red overcolor, flavorful, and very firm. The flesh is yellow, and it should be noted that it is semi-freestone rather than fully freestone. This is an excellent choice for a reliable, early-season peach.
This peach is a recent release from Rutgers, NJAES Breeding Program.
