Coralstar® Peach on Guardian® (Spring 2022)
A large, yellow-fleshed peach from the "Stellar" series. . Also known as FA 59.
This tree is upright and spreading, moderately vigorous and very productive. Early and hard thinning is recommended for best fruit quaility. Coralstar® shows some resistance to bacterial spot. It is self-fertile and a second variety is not required as a pollenizer.
Coralstar® is a member of the "Stellar" series, all of which have the word "star" in their names, from a private breeding program in Michigan. The fruit is large at three inches, and the orange-yellow skin is about 80% covered with a coral blush and low fuzz. This peach is suitable for both commercial producers and home growers; the firm flesh is good for shipping, and the fruit holds well on the tree, lending itself to picking over a long period. The yellow flesh is juicy and melting, and it does not brown after cutting. Coralstar® is fully freestone.
