Lord Lambourne Apple on G.210 (Spring 2027)
You are viewing a tree that will ship in Spring 2027. You can also find trees for Spring 2026.
An English heirloom that is a high-quality dessert apple.
Lord Lambourne is a medium-vigor tree with a spreading, almost weeping habit. It is reliably productive and an easy tree for the backyard grower. It is partially self-fertile, but for optimal fruit set we recommend a second variety for cross pollination. This tree is best suited for cooler climates similar to its native Northern Britain. It is scab resistant and rated as powdery mildew resistant by Cornell University.
The skin of this mid-season apple is orange flushed over green and lightly russetted near the stem. The flesh is creamy white, juicy, and crunchy. In Britain, Lord Lambourne is highly regarded for its balanced and aromatic flavor. It is also an excellent apple for baking and juicing.
Introduced in 1907, Lord Lambourne is a cross of James Grieve and Worcester Pearmain. It was bred by the Laxton Brothers (who also created Laxton's Superb among many other apples, as well as a number of plum and strawberry varieties) in 1907 and introduced in 1923, when it also won the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Merit. It has been widely planted in Northern England and Scotland.
