Somerset Redstreak Apple on G.210 (Spring 2027)

You are viewing a tree that will ship in Spring 2027. You can also find trees for Spring 2026.

A traditional English cider variety with bittersweet juice.

The tree is upright, vigorous, and productive. The fruit will need thinning to maintain annual bearing and it is highly susceptible to fireblight. This apple is used predominantly for cider; it is not typically valued for fresh eating.

Ripening early-mid season, this apple is medium-large, red over green, and the flesh yields a soft bittersweet juice (S.G. ~ 1.05; TA ~ 1.9 g/L; tannin ~ 3.5 g/L) of vintage quality (good for a single-variety cider). The cider masters at Eve's Cidery like this apple for its classic, bittersweet nose and its ability to soften harsher tannins without loss of flavor.

Somerset Redstreak has its origin in Somerset, England, late 1800s.
