Vanilla Pink Apple on G.16 (Spring 2026)
A candy-flavored apple with neon pink flesh.
Little is known about the disease susceptibilities and resistances of Vanilla Pink at this time. It is likely susceptible to apple scab.
Pink Vanilla is an apple with neon pink flesh. The texture can be grainy and the skin has a high tannin content, but it also has a unique fruity flavor with sweet candy and vanilla notes. Pink Vanilla will ripen in mid to Late November.
Vanilla Pink was developed by independent breeder Steve Edholm as a part of his self-reliance educational project called SkillCult. Steve Edholm started his breeding program in the early 2010’s and has incorporated many varieties, including some red-fleshed varieties that were developed by Albert Etters. He has produced several apple varieties and makes educational content about apple breeding and more on his YouTube channel. There is a premium charge of $5 on each tree that goes to the SkillCult project.
