Rubyprince Peach on BY520-9. Nematode Resistant Peach/nectarine (Spring 2025)

A very large, early peach with excellent flavor. Also known as Ruby Prince.

This is a vigorous, productive tree with moderate susceptibiity to bacterial spot. Rubyprince is self-fertile and a second variety is not required as a pollenizer. This peach is cold hardy to zone 5.

Ripening about 2 weeks before Redhaven, Rubyprince produces a large (up to 3") fruit that is firm and highly flavored. The skin is 80-90% scarlet over yellow, and like other early peaches the flesh is semi-clingstone. Rubyprince is a great peach to get an early start to your season.

Released in 1997, Rubyprince comes from the same W.R. Okie breeding program that produced Sureprince, Julyprince, and Augustprince. These peaches are named in honor of the venerable peach breeder Victor Prince.
