Enterprise Apple on G.11 (Spring 2024)

An attractive, highly disease-resistant apple, ideal for organic growers. Also known as Co-op 30.

Enterprise is the perfect apple for no-spray cultivation. The ninth variety released by the PRI program, it is field immune to scab, and resistant to mildew, cedar apple rust, and fireblight. This grower-friendly tree is vigorous, spreading, and reliably productive.

Ripening late October in upstate NY, between Rome and Braeburn, Enterprise is a medium-large glossy apple that is fully red. The skin is quite thick and tough, and the apple is better served peeled. The flesh is creamy, firm, and crisp with a flavor similar to Idared. This apple will keep well in storage for up to six months, during which its flavor will intensify slightly.

The parentage of Enterprise includes, McIntosh, Golden Delicious, and the crabapple Malus floribunda, which imparts scab-resistance. This apple was released in 1993.
