An early-season, medium-large sized apple with a conical shape. The skin is greenish yellow skin blushed pink and the flesh is crisp, white, and fine grained. Reine des Hatives yields an astringent, bittersweet juice that is well suited to cider production. It is classed as a bittersweet.
