Coconut Crunch Apple on G.11 (Spring 2026)

A large, firm-fleshed apple that stores extremely well.

This is a vigorous tree that is susceptible to fireblight. Grower reports suggest that it is otherwise problem free.

Coconut Crunch does not taste like coconut. It gets its name from its very firm, chewy flesh that has a coconut-like consistency. The fruit is large and streaked red over yellow, with a flavor that is actually sweet and spicy, as you would expect from its parentage. This late-season apple stores very well, for over six months, and the flavor improves in storage. This is a great baking apple.

Bred by Garfield Shults in Homedale, Idaho, Coconut Crunch is a cross of Northern Spy and Delicious.
