PF 8 Ball Peach on Lovell (Spring 2021)

An early-season, freestone peach.

The tree is vigorous, spreading, productive, and reliable. It produces naturally right-angled crotches, and it is resistant to bacterial spot and brown rot. This variety is self-fertile; it will not need a pollenizer.

PF 8 Ball is an early, freestone peach variety that ripens ten days before Redhaven! It is a large peach (2.5-3") for this early; it has high color and great texture; it is sweet (11-14 °Brix) and flavorful. The fruit hangs well on the tree and will store well for about three weeks. The freestone quality, size, and early maturity of this variety make it a winner for any peach grower who does retailing or wholesales to direct retailers.

Any peach variety with PF at the front of its name is a creation of Paul Friday, Michigan peach breeder extraordinaire. This particular variety is named for its near-perfect roundness.
