A "mystery" apple for which we simply do not know name .

There are varying degrees of mystery tree, that are possibly best described using the mid-2000's Rumsfeldian Scale: Known-Unknowns, Unknown-Knowns, Unknown-Unknowns, etc.  How is it that mystery trees even come to be, you might ask?  Well, it's complicated and it's simple. Short answer is: Human Error. There are simply numerous points and opportunities along the way in the lifecycle of a tree, where positive identification can be lost in the nursery!  And sometimes it just happens.
