Autumn Crisp Apple on G.11 (Spring 2026)

An explosively crisp, mid-season apple bred in Geneva, NY. Also known as NY674.

The tree is upright-spreading, vigorous, and productive. This cultivar is susceptible to fireblight.

This apple is flushed a pinkish red over yellow. It ripens a few days after McIntosh, and the flesh is crunchy - with a similar explosive crispness to Honeycrisp. Having Golden Delicious as one of its parents, it has a similar honeyed sweetness, but a better acid balance. When cut, the apple is slow to oxidize (brown), making it an excellent addition to salads and cheese plates.

Autumn Crisp, formerly known as NY674, comes from the Cornell breeding program in Geneva, NY. It is a cross of Golden Delicious and Monroe. Autumn Crisp has itself been crossed with Braeburn to produce RubyFrost.
