SnowSweet® Apple on G.11 (Spring 2026)
You are viewing a tree that will ship in Spring 2026. You can also find trees for Spring 2025.
A modern, cold hardy, disease resistant, and very tasty variety from Minnesota. Also known as Wilding.
This tree is easy to grow; it is vigorous, spreading-drooping, and cold hardy to zone 4. It is moderately resistant to both fireblight and scab.
SnowSweet® is a pretty medium-large sized apple with skin that is burnished, bronze-red over yellow-green. The flesh, as you would imagine, is bright white, and it is very slow to oxidize, making this an excellent apple for slicing into salads. The texture is breaking and tender, and the flavor is sweet-tart and rich. The developers describe the flavor as "almost buttery" and other tasters find notes of spice and coconut. The fruit ripens mid-late season, and it will store well for 60-80 days.
SnowSweet® is the 24th variety to come out of the University of Minnesota breeding program. It is a cross of two breeding varieties, Sharon and Connell Red, and its striking white flesh comes from McIntosh, which is found on both sides of the family tree.
