Surprise Apple Scionwood (Spring 2025)
A pink-fleshed breeding favorite of Albert Etter.
A yellow-skinned, pink-fleshed apple that was brought to America in the early 1800's. The plant breeder Albert Etter used Surprise as a parent for many of his red-fleshed crosses including the famous Pink Pearl. The pink flesh is acidic with very little sugar. This is a variety that will appeal mainly to collectors.
