A highly flavored, late-season dessert apple, perfect for organic production.
Westfield Apple Scionwood (Spring 2026)
A renowned heirloom dessert apple. Also known as Westfield Seek-No-Further.
This is a vigorous, precocious tree with a spreading, rounded habit. Some growers report susceptibility to cedar-apple rust and mildew, and as an heirloom we expect it to be susceptible to fireblight.
Westfield is a medium-sized apple, streaked red over yellow. The skin is marked with conspicuous lenticels and sometimes mildly russeted. It was historically prized for its rich, subacid flavor. Tasters comment on notes of pear and honey. The fruit stores well, for up to three months.
Originating in Westfield, Connecticut, this apple was introduced in Ohio around 1796. In 1846, the New York State Agricultural Society wrote that Westfield was "the apple par excellence" of Springfield, Massachusetts, and that "in flavor, it is excelled by few apples whatever for all household purposes."
