The Northeast cult favorite, a child of McIntosh.
Vision Plum Scionwood (Spring 2025)

A late-season, very sweet prune-plum.
This is an upright, open, and high-vigor tree that is somewhat resistant to bacterial canker. Vision is productive and healthy, and somewhat resistant to bacterial canker. It is not self-fertile, and it will need to be paired with a pollenizer. Compatible partners include Stanley, Valor, and Victory. It is incompatible with Italian.
Vision ripens at the very end of plum season, about ten days after Stanley (mid-September in upstate NY). The fruit is large, purple, and very sweet. This is one of the best-flavored plums to come from the Canadian breeding program and a great choice for extending your growing season.
The Vineland plum breeding program at Ontario, Canada was established with the primary objective of developing plum cultivars that would provide a seasonal succession of high-quality fruit suitable for export. Over the years, the program shifted its focus to developing excellent fruit for fresh markets. To date the program has released: Valor, Verity, and Vision (1967), Veeblue (1984), Voyageur (1987), and Vanier (1984).
