An attractive, highly disease-resistant apple, ideal for organic growers.
P.18 Apple Rootstock (Spring 2023)
A full-vigor, extremely cold-hardy rootstock.
P.18 is a full-vigor stock with outstanding winter hardiness. A cross of Malling 4 and Antonovka, it was bred in Poland to withstand Polish winters, and it also has good resistance to collar rot, scab, mildew, gall, and fireblight. It tolerates heavy soils and is free of burr knots. P.8 is, however, susceptible to woolly apple aphid. Many growers now prefer B.118 or B.490.
