B.118 Apple Rootstock (Spring 2023)

An extremely hardy and vigorous rootstock from Russia. Also known as Bud.118, B118, Budagovsky 118.

Its red leaves, red wood, and straight shoots make grafting failures on B.118 especially easy to spot. Bred for tolerance to the winters of central Russia, this rootstock is extremely cold hardy. We have found no compatibility issues with B.118. It produces trees with roughly the same vigor as MM.111, but they will be hardier with no burrknots and earlier bearing.

B.118 is a cross of Moscow pear and M.9 or M.8.
