G.210 Apple Rootstock (Spring 2025)

Slightly more vigorous than M.26 with improved anchorage and productivity, and woolly aphid resistance . Also known as Geneva 210.

G.210 will produce trees in the size range between M.26 and M.7, depending on growing conditions. It is resistant to fireblight and replant disease, and it offers good resistance to collar rot. It is woolly apple aphid resistant. No virus sensitivities have been reported. Trees on G.210 are well anchored and can be freestanding.

Cornell recommends this stock for organic production, high density processing orchards, and Red Delicious plantings. Recommended high density planting for organic production is 3.5-4' x 12-13' (1037-838 trees/acre) and for processing cultivars it is 4.0-4.5' x 13-14' (838-745 tree/acre).

G.210 comes from the Geneva, NY breeding program, developed by my father, Dr. Jim Cummins. It is a cross of Ottawa 3 and Robusta 5.
