Norman Peach on BY520-9. Nematode Resistant Peach/nectarine (Spring 2024)

A full-flavored, disease resistant peach, great for canning.

Norman is cold hardy, resistant to bacterial spot, and the bloom is showy with large flowers. It is self-fertile and does not need a second variety present as a pollenizer, but, as most peaches, it requires aggressive pruning and thinning.

This is a medium-sized, freestone peach with non-browning flesh, making it a great canning peach. Norman has dark red, low fuzz skin and full flavored, deep yellow flesh. The fruit will require several harvests, a bonus for the home gardener.

Norman was developed by NCSU, in the same breeding program that has given us Contender, Intrepid, and Carolina Belle.
