Geneva Mirabelle™ Plum on Myrobalan (Spring 2026)

You are viewing a tree that will ship in Spring 2026. You can also find trees for Spring 2025.

A mirabelle plum bred for reliable cropping in New York. Also known as NY 858.

This is an upright and branching tree that will crop heavily and regularly if well pruned. It is slightly resistant to leaf spot and brown rot. Geneva Mirabelle™ is not self-fertile, and it will need a pollenizer. It will work well with Damson, Castleton, Italian, Gras Romanesc, Seneca, BluesJam, other Mirabelle strains, and no doubt most other mid or late-blooming European plums.

Geneva Mirabelle™ is an open-pollinated seedling of American Mirabelle. It ripens about ten days earlier than American Mirabelle (which ripens in the last few days of September), and it is rounder than its female parent. It has a golden skin color that is covered by about 40% orange-pink blush. Fruits are small (approximately 15g), round, and completely freestone. The amber flesh is very sweet, and levels of 22 °Brix are common.

Mirabelle-type plums are famous in some districts of France and Germany for their excellent processed products of compote (whole fruits canned in heavy syrup), jams, and brandies. Geneva Mirabelle™ is perfect for emerging cottage industries in preserves and fruit wine.
